Skip Hop Hare Grooming Set, White/Mint Reviews

I went with the SkipHop Hare Grooming set because our nursery's theme is bunnies in shades of mint green and chocolate brown, so it fit the decor, and because it got very good reviews from other parents on various websites. Plus, a lot of the more basic hair sets seemed to be cheaply made, harsh for a baby's delicate skin and hair or just plain ugly. Lots of the reviews raved about how this set is easy and safe for the baby to chew on (I learned through babysitting that giving an infant something to chew on is a good distraction during diaper changes- especially combs, if they're teething), and that the mirror on the bottom of the holder can be very entertaining as well.br /I haven't delivered yet (hopefully this week, I'm due tomorrow) so I can't remark on how well the set works on the baby but on my skin (I brushed the skin on my face which I think is as close to baby skin as I could get) the pieces do not hurt or scratch or catch. Seems like an easy set to clean, although my only hang-up (and its a minor one) is that the set can't be tucked away somewhere small, its more of the type of thing you leave on the dresser for people to see, and it just seems a little clunky to me. But that's not a huge problem.br /As far as ordering and delivering, I ordered through Amazon and it arrived within a week, in a brand new box and in perfect condition so I was very satisfied with that. The same set is available at Babies R Us but only in orange and I preferred the green- no difference in price at the time. I also ordered this well over a month ago and although I haven't been using it daily yet, its a sturdy set so I don't anticipate the baby being able to rip it apart after a few uses. (The only thing I think may be an issue is the mirror possibly getting scratched since it is on the bottom of the holder and comes in contact with the dresser surface. I'll just have to wait and see.)br /Its very cute and practical, can be used in a girl's or boy's nursery and for quite some time after infancy. Can be used as a toy or teether, as well as a grooming set, and seems pretty easy as far as maintenance. Overall, I give it 4 stars and I hope that the baby enjoys it as much as I do.
